About the Recipe
Beautifully plump and tender escargot, wonderfully dressed pate en croute, it was everything that I had wished for from a bistro we should have given a bit more respect to. This was the first time that Randi and I had sat down for a meal in Paris, having done zero research or booking ahead of time. In the time leading up to this trip, I had done weeks worth of research into the restaurants, bakeries, bars and bistros I would like for us to go visit. When it came time to pack for this trip, however, I left that entire folder behind. C'est la vie, all the more reason we need to come back for another stay in France. After strolling around Paris' First Arrondissement for the better portion of four hours, we had worked up quite an appetite. After we found that the first two restaurants I had wished for, were closed after their lunch service due to the blistering summer heat, we found our way to La Coupe D'Or as we were aiming for our hotel. Being some of the only patrons at this bistro gave us pause; but after we settled into the dinner we loved our waitstaff and all of the assistance they provided. Feeling the full 32 degrees celsius, we ordered a majority of cooler dishes and pairing it with a delightfully chilled lager made for an amazing evening.
